Science of Charisma
When painting a house (perhaps an intricate, old Victorian), our thoughts immediately imagine the color, the paint finish, and how the final product will stand out from all the other houses on the street.
It’s easy for us to get excited and head to the hardware store to look at color swatches. However, it would be ill advised to jump in with a paint roller and start coating your house with bright tints without first checking the quality of that historic wood siding, your canvas.
You already know the incredible strength and value you hold inside. If only you had a proper chance, we'd love all you have to offer.
Sometimes it feels our weaknesses get more attention than any of our strengths ever will. Those weaknesses are sticking out like a sore thumb!

It might feel weird to live in a world without Macy’s, J.C. Penney’s or Kohl’s. These major retail outlets are household names all over the country, maybe even internationally. J.C. Penney still runs ads in the Sunday paper, and Macy’s still sponsors a Thanksgiving day parade - but how much longer will they be around?
If you see a picture of Guns N’ Roses with their big hair, sunglasses, and edgy vibe, you’ll likely find yourself suddenly humming “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” or “November Rain,” along in your head. Isn’t it crazy how something as simple as a picture elicits memories of these ballads?
This memorable connection happens in part because of the band’s clever positioning: which you too can use to successfully market your own brand.
Sometimes, if I’m willing to take the time, my mind wanders. I begin to wonder, asking myself why am I here?
And I don’t mean why am I on this earth. But why am I right here. In this moment. In this room. Reading these words.
A rocket runs on rocket fuel. So take your time when filling it up.
Of course, we see so many rockets taking off these days, it feels like we’ll be left behind. We see Google and Uber and other huge companies flying so high. But they all filled up their rockets first. They took the time to learn whatever skills they needed. To build relationships. To locate that million dollar idea.
The world often forgets. It’s busy and gruff. Because people are stuck in their tasks and routines; they miss all the wonders you offer to share.
And this is why you keep working long after your Stuff is already the best Stuff in town. Because it’s not enough to simply be truly fantastic. You have to be truly recognized as well.
